THE Cebu Football Association has officially informed Paref-Springdale that it is free to join Cebu Football Association (CFA) and Philippine Football Federation (PFF) activities after its three-year ban was overturned.

Last January, the CFA Disciplinary Committee banned Springdale for three years for pulling out of the Aboitiz Cup and the school questioned the decision, saying their side wasn’t heard. However, the CFA Appeals Committee, headed by then president Richard Montayre, upheld the three-year ban.

Springdale questioned the move and raise the matter to the PFF Appeals Committee.

In its decision, the Appeals Committee, headed by Gregorio Larrazabal said, “It is clear that the decision of the Disciplinary Committee of the CFA, which was signed by Montayre, who at the time of decision, also the president of CFA that was patently without any legal and factual basis. “

The three-page decision of the PFF declared the decision of the CFA Appeals Committee void and said Paref Springdale and coach Mario Ceniza are qualified to join all football-related activities.

However, the PFF also told CFA that “the judicial recourse taken by Paref Springdale does not, in any manner, set a precedent for all future cases.”

With the decision, Springdale can now join this year’s Aboitiz Cup and the other football tournaments as well as seminars and courses that will be conducted by the CFA, which is now headed by Ricky Dakay.
