THE Philippine Women's College (PWC) of Davao and D' Davao Survivors (DDS) hacked out wins at the start of the DFA Women's Open Football League held at the Tionko football grounds over the weekend.
PWC subdued SOS Children's Village, 6-4, with a hat trick courtesy of Sanaa Jikiri (17th, 29th, 79th), two goals by July Anne Bunac (26th, 61st) and one goal friom Alvin Rose Pardillo (36th).
Agot Danton's hat trick (fourth, 14th, 49th) led scoring for SOS that also made a goal in the ninth through Adrea Fer Duran.
DDS, meanwhile, edged Ateneo de Davao University college, 2-1. Ateneo College's Zianne Anoya Rivera started the ball rolling with a goal in the 38th but veteran DDS striker Ching Siega delos Reyes countered in the 44th to even the match. Dawow Palas followed up on Delos Reyes's equalizer in the 60th to wrap up the match.
In another game, Janna Barcemo sizzled with six goals for lift Ateneo High School past Medvil FC, 11-0. Other scorers were Nina Arrieta, Patricia Francisco, Mally Alyssa Marie Ang and Bea Dongon.
Games will resume this weekend in the meet organized by the Davao Football Association. (MLSA)
