SIX players are being eyed by the Queen City United Football Club after the three-day open tryouts ended last Saturday at the Aboitiz Sports Field.

The management is still withholding the names of the players until the contract will be signed next week, which will formally bind the players and management.

Contract stipulations include the players’ fees and require the players’ presence at all times.

“We still have to let them sign the contract and hopefully they will faithfully comply with what will be agreed on,” said head coach Mario Ceniza.

“They should really be committed. They just can’t say they cannot play any time because playing with CQCU should be a priority,” said Ceniza.

The CQCU has had problems with players not showing up to matches and practices before and that is what the team wants to avoid this time.

There were 29 players who signed up between ages 17 and 34. One tried out for the keeper’s position.

Cebu-based foreign players, two Nigerians and one Sudanese showed up in the tryouts as well as a Fil-Am player from the Philippine Navy FC and one from Laos FC.
